SimplyIRC launched late November 2011 but originally started as a dream back in 2003 when we first launched under the name IRCPeople.co.uk. We started steady and as with most new IRC Networks it takes many years to grow a regular user base and attract new users. It became apparent that we lacked the time and patience needed to run a network.

Having decided to try again in December 2010 as IRCPeople.net we decided to team up with various other servers to offer a larger user base so that someone will always be available for a chat. We currently average around 80+ users with over 35 channels.

We know that users can choose any of the other 1000's of servers out there but our laid back attitude is something that we hope will keep users coming back. We currently operate two servers which our hosted separately to ensure that should one go down the other will still be online meaning minimal disruption to our chatters.
